We are seeking a Legal Counsel for our legal department at CEVA Logistics South Africa.
As a Legal Counsel Professional, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and support to the business unit, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and handling legal matters efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and manage the legal team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.Analyze contractual projects as well as tenders, assess the risks and negotiate the legal terms where appropriate in consultation with operational and commercial staff.Draft and solidify agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the company's full legal rights.Prepare corporate meetings in the relevant entities, agenda and board or shareholder's resolutions.Ensure prevention (drafting of legal notices, prevention of litigation, risk assessment, etc.) and participate in application of contractual risk management solutions.Provide training to the operational staff regarding contract risk awareness and minimization.Manage claims and dispute resolutions, litigations and represent companies in legal proceedings.Provide strategic advice on commercial law, employment law, obligation law, public procurement law and finance law.Provide legal advice to the Companies Business Development, Finance, Procurement, HR and other departments.Participate and actively assist in all M&A projects and corporate re-structuring.Disseminate internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance.Report deviations from CER to the Management and/or ICAP Committee.Ensure legal watch (evolution of texts and case law in the relevant countries) and manage contractual databases.Manage formal correspondences and notifications to or from public authorities and other third parties.Support IMEA Legal team in case of extraordinary rush, unusual workflow increase or specific file where your expertise is requested.Provide legal advice on a wide range of issues related to the business operations.Requirements: Qualified solicitor or barrister with a valid practicing licence.5-10 years previous experience in a corporate legal environment.Strong knowledge of South African laws and regulations.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and in a team.If you are a skilled legal professional looking to join a dynamic legal team in the logistics industry, we invite you to apply for the position of Legal Counsel Professional South Africa at CEVA Logistics South Africa.
