Job Description
Responsible for the effective management of diverse legal teams across various jurisdictions
Setting legal strategy and direction alignment to organisational imperatives
Accountable for the operational management of the full suite of legal services across the AECI Group.
Strengthen collaboration with external legal advisors, local and cross border
Maintain relationships with all internal stakeholders
Responsible for reporting and implementation of Legal standards
Reporting of legal and ethical breaches
Conduct research and develop legal frameworks, analyse local and international trends that could impact the business.
Conduct assessment on labour legislation compliance, locally and cross-border
Conduct business improvement initiatives on ethics and corporate governance
Build a strong and cohesive team by recruiting top talent and creating an inclusive work environment
Promote a culture that supports high performance through performance management and employee engagement
Mentoring, coaching and developing of the Legal team
Qualifications & Experience
Degree: LLB/LLM
MBA will be advantageous
Admitted Attorney/Advocate
10-15 years' work experience in same or similar role
10 years' experience in managing legal teams in listed company environment
Substantial experience in corporate commercial & M&A matters
Knowledge of applicable legislation including corporate law, competition law, contract law, dispute resolution, environmental law, mining law, labour law, etc.
Solid regulatory compliance experience in multinational companies
Proven track record in establishing formal legal policies, procedures and internal controls
Strong legal risk management background
Demonstrable legal project management experience
Leadership and management of lawyers and non-lawyers
