Cold Store Junior Manager

A well established company inKomaniis looking for aCold Store Junior Managerto join their team.The primary role is to oversee various activities involved in the storage of items in the cold (e.g., fridge or freezer). They role also includes to be responsible for running, directing and monitoring a team of workers and to ensure the efficient running of goods in cold storage and a smooth flow of cold store orders received and dispatchedEducational requirementsNational Senior Certificate - Grade 12Diploma and/or degree in logistics and/or supply chain management is advantageousValid Code 8 drivers license and own transport, 10 or 14 driver's license advantageousForklift license is advantageousExperience requirementsAt least one year working experience in the meat or food industryAt least 2 years supervisory experienceProficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and AbaserveKey performance areasReceive and dispatch orders.Manage goods received voucher (GRV) stock.Monitor stock rotation and levels.Manage and supervise cold store department staff and provide them with relevant training on all aspects of the operation.Ensure effective communication with suppliers and customers relating to stock.Communicate and lias with the Debtors and Creditors Controller to ensure that returned stock is credited.Perform monthly stock take.Pick up stock for orders.Lias with the Offal and Deboning departments with stock management.Review stock orders to determine forecasts for peak delivery periods.General competence requiredExcellent communication (verbal, written)Fluent in English (essential) and Xhosa (preferable)Stock receiving, dispatching and inventory control proceduresUnderstand all customs procedures and requirementsKnowledge of HACCP and Food SafetyWarehouse management systems (WMS)Knowledge of Health & SafetyGeneral administrative duties and procedures (Filing, Documenting and Auditing)If you would like to apply for this position, please send your CV to Alana Botha at
