Duties: Independently service clients and manage a portfolio of complex and significant claims and clients Asset, Property and Liability Claims (Non-Motor Claims). Receive new claims from clients and/or colleagues - review, process, collect information and notify all appropriate insurers. Identify and validate all potential policies and coverage information; update core claims applications and track the process through to completion of each claim movement or until finalization Manage, facilitate and action all subsequent movements or activities, including settlement or payment as appropriate and reporting, through to completion of the claim Provide procedural claims guidance and advice to clients Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, colleagues, service providers , third parties and insurers Effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, third parties or insurers as appropriate at all times, and as per local procedures Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, colleagues, service providers , third parties and insurers Generate claims reports as required, validate, supplement and distribute as necessary Attend meetings with clients, insurers or third parties as required What you need to have: Legal degree/Diploma or university degree (or equivalent experience) would be advantageous Matric required Insurance qualification preferable FAIS Accreditation preferable RE Examination preferable / to be obtained Minimum 7 years work experience (Minimum of 5 years Corporate claims: All Lines of claims, General Liability, Construction/Engineering, D&O Liability, Professional Indemnity, Employers Liability, Financial lines Claims experience required) Ability to manage complex claims Self-insurance, aggregate and captive claims handling knowledge. Excellent decision-making skills Experience in a client-facing role
