Job Purpose:
Responsible for the smooth running of the Outbound warehouse operations by overseeing all the warehouse activities; ensuring targets are met, quality standards are upheld, and safety regulations are adhered to.
Daily Operations:
Ensure daily targets for the outbound shift are met.
Assume full control of the outbound facility, ensuring safety, security, hygiene, and compliance with quality and food safety standards;
Implement efficient warehouse layout and organisation to optimise space utilisation
Ensure optimal planning and forecasting of resources and capacity to meet the day-to-day strategic objectives;
Work with the supply and demand planner to address outbound issues in a timely and cost-effective manner
Manage the accurate receiving, packing and storing of stock in the correct location
Oversee the picking and despatch process
Accountable for ensuring that shipments are delivered to customers within the requested delivery window
Conduct stock counts, ensure accurate inventory records, analyse variances and maintain proper stock levels;
Monitor and maintain quality standards, ensuring products meet required specifications.
Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during the shift.
Collaborate with other Shift Managers to ensure seamless operations.
Daily reporting:
Prepare shift reports detailing any issues encountered, and resolutions;
Ensure the full functioning and use of Shopware to capture and monitor operational activities.
Manage Team Performance:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of workers during the shift;
Train new employees and provide ongoing training to existing staff;
Manage team performance and conduct regular performance reviews;
Develop, implement and ensure all SOPs are adhered to.
Safety Protocol:
Ensure all machinery and equipment are in good working condition and report any malfunctions;
Enforce safety regulations and ensure that all workers adhere to safety guidelines;
Educational Qualifications:
Relevant qualification or diploma in supply chain or logistics
Knowledge and Experience:
At least 5 years' work experience in a similar role in a warehouse setting.
Experience in a food manufacturing industry.
Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role
Understanding of warehouse operations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, presentation Outlook).
