Our client, a well-known private healthcare group, is urgently looking for a Professional/Registered Nurse to fulfil the role of Medical Unit Manager. This is a permanent opportunityat in George in the Western Cape.

Minimum Requirements
3 or 4-year Diploma or 4 year Degree in Nursing
Registered with SANC as a Professional Nurse
A qualification in Nursing education qualification or/and Nursing management will serve as an advantage
Relevant Management experience of at least 2-3 years
At least 5 years professional nursing experience in a hospital
Infection Prevention and Control and Clinical Facilitation
Auditing and accreditation processes
Clinical risk management
Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
Continuous improvement and quality assurance methodologies
Financial management
Healthcare industry
Human resource processes including employee relations
Management of staff productivity
Nursing functional knowledge
Patient complaint management
Relevant nursing legislation
Duties and Responsibilities
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To lead a quality and safe patient care experience that meets the set clinical standards through the optimal management of human and organisational resources within a structured unit.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
Ensure safe patient care by meeting set clinical quality standards according to company policies and procedures
Manage and mitigate clinical risks in the unit
Lead and manage the staff in the unit
Manage the unit's operational and capital expenses according to financial and budget guidelines and ensure optimal utilisation of resources
Manage and actively contribute to a positive patient experience in the hospital
Support the achievement of interdepartmental outcomes
Manage key stakeholder relations
