Job SummaryTo manage, control and coordinate all aspects relating to transport within WastePlan in the Gauteng region.Responsibilities Management of the transport departmentProvide leadership, vision and strategy to the transport departmentEnsure excellence in execution throughout the departmentShort and medium-term route planningCompiling of transport budgetsEfficient management of all personnel within the departmentImplementation and management of effective fleet asset management systemsDaily management and control of all transport related expensesResponsible for the timeous completion of all required reportsTimeous, pro-active communication to all stakeholders both internal and externalManagement of Drivers and RunnersManage the commercial transport departments and all staff that fall within the transport department, in the regionLiaise with staff regarding collections ensuring commitments to clients are keptMonitor the production of employees with regards to collections and deliveriesResponsible for efficient utilization of the fleetManaging of fuel efficiencies (KM per litre)Maximizing collection efficiencies (KG per litre)Ensure Drivers receive training on efficient and defensive driving skillsOperational route planningPeriodically evaluate routes as per contractEvaluation of routes to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency of all assets and employeesCompile new routes as per contractsAdhere to all ad-hoc requests regarding collectionCompany vehicles: maintenance / licensing / fines Manage the Transport ControllersEnsure all vehicles are maintained according to programEnsure all receptacles (cages, bins, trailers) are maintainedProper management of fuel and tyres expenditureResponsible for dealing with all breakdownsManage the Transport Admin AssistantsEnsure all vehicles undergo COF and are licensedAdministration of all finesRequirementsRelevant Diploma or DegreeMinimum 10 years working experience in a similar roleProven track record of successful leadership in similar role with measurable impact madeRelevant qualifications,experience, knowledge and skillsValid drivers license and own reliable transport is essentialEmployment will be implemented in accordance with the Employment Equity Act.Only Applicants being considered for the role will be contacted.
