Job Summary Responsible for all Drivers, Runners and vehicles, as well as efficient route planning and coordination of collections.Responsibilities Management of the vehicle tracking systemDaily tracking of vehicles to ensure that we follow the best possible routeEfficient route planning, using the vehicle management route optimization systemResponsible for coordinating collections with Drivers and RunnersEnsure vehicles leave the yard no later than 15 minutes after their shift has commencedProvide daily collection schedules from the vehicle management system and amend when required on the applicable systemSchedule / reschedule or cancel collections on the vehicle management system when applicableEnsure vehicles offload timeously, to minimize turnaround times (at the sites and MRFs) and improve productivityPersonnel managementEnsure that staff members work productively and efficiently, as stipulated in their job descriptionConduct monthly team meetings with Drivers and RunnersEnsure that staff members wear the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)Ensure employees clock in and clock out dailyConfirm that the attendance registers are signed by staff when requiredEffective management and appointment of casual staff in the transport departmentAssist Drivers in completing accident and damage report as per the company SOPsEnsure all Drivers offload their materials at the end of each shiftEnsure all data collection processes are adhered toManagement of vehiclesEnsure that vehicle inspections are carried out daily and report any defects to the National Transport ManagerConduct inspections on the vehicle tyre pressure weeklyComplete the electronic inspection sheet when conducting inspectionsInspect all vehicles and trailers once per monthUpdate the GPS ODO reading weekly with vehicle ODO readingEnsure that vehicles are serviced on time, as per service intervals, and plan accordingly to minimize the impact on operationsEnsure all vehicles are roadworthy before they leave the yardEnsure vehicles are delivered on time to the relevant service providers for repairsManifest managementPrint out a manifest pack for each driver and issue this to themEnsure that all manifests are received, completed, and handed over to the relevant personComply with Manifest application usage for all vehiclesPayrollFollow up on and complete leave forms when requestedVerify remaining leave amounts with HREnsure all leave forms are sent to HR before concluding payrollEnsure employee transfers are done before concluding payrollSHEQ responsibilitiesUpdate all staff on all legislation, rules and responsibilities as prescribed in the companys COVID-19 SOPValidate Drivers and Runners medicalsBook and plan inductions on various sites as requiredComplete breathalyzing tests upon staff arrival for shift and conduct random checks throughout the shiftConfirm that the breathalyzer registers are signedEnsure staff SOPs and SWP are valid and in place when being usedEnsure the Drivers and Runners clean their vehicles dailyHandle injuries on duty and report as prescribed by the company IOD policyAction corrective or preventative procedures when and IOD takes placeEnsure that all incidents and accidents are investigated and reported, and that preventative action is taken to avoid further incidents or accidentsRequirementsGrade 12, a relevant degree / diploma will be highly advantageousMust be willing to workday shift or night shift, in accordance with a monthly rosterMinimum 3 years working experience in a similar roleValid drivers license with own reliable transport preferableMust be well presented, professional and have excellent communication skillsEmployment will be implemented in accordance with the Employment Equity Act.Only Applicants being considered for the role will be contacted.
