Export Logistics Controller (JB4844)
Johannesburg, Gauteng
R35 000 per month, CTC
Three-month contract
As the Exports Logistics Coordinator, your primary role will be to manage the export logistics operations of the company, ensuring compliance with international regulations and delivering products to customers within the SADC trade bloc. You will coordinate the entire export process, work closely with cross-functional teams, and handle logistics providers while optimizing supply chain efficiency.
Expertise in exports by road to neighbouring Sub-Saharan African countries is required.
Minimum Requirements:

3-5 years of experience in export logistics.
Experience with cross-border exports by road.
Knowledge of international trade regulations, non-tariff barriers, and in-country regulations.
Familiarity with Incoterms (2000, 2010, or 2020).
Customs procedures and logistics software experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate and oversee the entire export logistics process, including scheduling shipments, arranging transportation, and managing customs procedures.
Collaborate with the sales team to forecast demand and develop efficient shipping plans that meet customer delivery expectations.
Negotiate contracts and rates with freight forwarders, carriers, and logistics providers to secure cost-effective transportation solutions.
Prepare and review export documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, export declarations) ensuring accuracy and compliance with international trade regulations.
Work closely with customs brokers and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth clearance of export shipments.
Monitor shipment status, proactively addressing any potential delays or disruptions to ensure on-time delivery.
Maintain detailed records of export activities, including costs, documentation, and compliance records, ensuring data accuracy.
Provide regular communication to internal teams and customers on shipment status and any logistics issues impacting operations.
Stay updated on export regulations, trade agreements, and industry trends to drive continuous improvement in export logistics processes.
Analyze key performance indicators related to export logistics, identifying opportunities for optimization and cost reduction.
Conduct performance reviews of logistics service providers and recommend areas for improvement or cost savings.
Collaborate with the procurement team to source and negotiate contracts with transportation providers, warehouses, and other logistics partners.
Collaborate in cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing process efficiency and driving continuous improvement in export logistics.
Provide training and guidance to junior logistics staff on export procedures, regulations, and best practices.
