At Arts & Science, we take pride in our legacy of innovation and discovery that has changed the way we think about the world.Your opportunity:The Office of the Faculty Registrar works closely with departments and colleges at the University of Toronto, concerning virtually all matters relating to Arts and Science students. Our department members are dedicated to aid all students to the greatest extent, to make their university experience as smooth and seamless as possible. We coordinate personal, financial, academic counselling, registration and enrolment, student records, transfer credit, petitions, final examinations, and graduation.Reporting to the Associate Director, Transfer Credit, the incumbent evaluates courses from other academic institutions for the purposes of on-admission and post-admission transfer credit; evaluates courses from other institutions to prepare and issue letters of permission; corresponds with departments/colleges regarding transfer credit assessment; answers inquiries concerning transfer credit assessments, procedures, and policies; makes recommendations for improvements to established protocols, procedures, systems, and online content.Your responsibilities will include:Analyzing domestic academic documents to assess credentials against University equivalencies.Analyzing foreign academic documents to assess credentials against Canadian equivalencies.Reviewing and assessing student requests to attend other Universities on Letters of Permission.Applying established standards to ensure adherence with transfer credit rules and guidelines.Providing consultation and advice on the application of University policies and procedures.Overseeing the data collection and analysis processes.Implementing plans and process improvements for records administration activities.Essential Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.Minimum four years of recent and related experience working in a registrar department, with demonstrated knowledge of educational systems and international credential assessment.Demonstrated knowledge of domestic and international post-secondary educational systems.Experience analyzing domestic and foreign academic documents.Experience and sound knowledge of best practices in transfer credit and enrolment.Demonstrated experience and knowledge of applying University policy and procedures.Demonstrated experience and ability with developing and maintaining web-based information and applications.Demonstrated experience with Rocket Shuttle, ROSI, Slate, Mobility Online, SAM, Transfer Credit Applications, Degree Explorer, Transfer Credit Equivalencies database in OASIS, Transfer Explorer, or similar systems.Advanced knowledge of MS Office, with particular proficiency in database and spreadsheet applications, internet and email applications.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written), with proven ability to interact effectively with a variety of stakeholders.Excellent judgement and analytical skills.Excellent time-management and organizational skills.Demonstrated ability using databases/spreadsheets.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.Ability to prioritize and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.To be successful in this role you will be:IntuitiveOrganizedPerceptiveSelf-directedTeam playerPlease note:This is a term position until August 2026.Closing Date: 09/27/2024, 11:59PM ETEmployee Group: USWAppointment Type: Budget - TermSchedule: Full-TimePay Scale Group & Hiring Zone: USW Pay Band 12 -- $79,874. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $102,147.
