Position: Training and Technical ManagerLocation: Cape Town/ GautengReport to: Chief Executive Officer – based in Cape Town.Responsible for: This position in the company will encompass a number of responsibilities including heading up the Training Division, assisting the Content Development team with creating code, providing Technical assistance, managing the onboarding process of clients on the Inspire Campus (Moodle-based LMS) and WordPress website maintenance.Communicates & co-operates with:Senior Management; Education stakeholders; Private and Public sector stakeholders.Position Overview:TrainingYou will lead and manage the Training Division. Your responsibilities will be to train the respective stakeholders: Educators (schools and tertiary institutions), Inspire Africa instructors and trainers, students, professional drone industry stakeholders and corporate sector stakeholders across the company's existing and future products and services, including drone technology, 3D printing and rapid-prototyping, coding, robotics and future planned 4iR technologies. Post-training educator support on curriculum and technical matters.Content DevelopmentWorking together with the Head of Content Development, you will assist the team in the company's growth and expansion from primary and secondary education curricula and courses. This assistance will be mostly concerning solution block-code creation for various activities.LMS and Website MaintenanceWorking closely with management and the sales team, you will assist with updates on the website and managing user access and user support to the Inspire Campus our proprietary learners management system.Social MediaScheduling social media posts via Hootsuite and managing social media analytics.ResponsibilitiesTraining:Managing educator training schedules and onboarding.Assist clients and internal team with technical support and troubleshooting.Training of instructors and potential instructors on the company's educational products and services.Ensure that instructor training material is up to date and provide feedback to the content development team.You will ensure that both yourself and the instructors can perform the following tasks:Coding and Robotics coursesProvide practical, hands-on training.Prepare and maintain equipment.Teach and upskill educators in the use of micro:bit-based hardware and block coding.Drone Courses:Present drone safety and flying theory.Provide practical, hands-on training.Provide training and coaching for children from ages 8 and up.Assist customers in building block-based drones.Perform demo flights.Prepare and maintain equipment.Teach DroneBlocks coding and Python programming basics.3D Printing Courses:You won't require any previous experience with 3D printers and will be trained on all aspects of 3D printing and the relevant design software.Present 3D modelling instruction and 3D printing theory.Train educators in Fusion 360 and Tinkercad.Provide practical, hands-on training.Provide training for educators.Assist customers in operating 3D printers.Set up 3D printing areas in schools.School Activations and Team-building events:Teach students to fly and build drones.Present an overview of the drone industry and other disruptive technologies to customers.Teach students how to code basic educational robots.Engage with clients in a professional and friendly manner.Prepare equipment.Events:Assist the Inspire Africa marketing and events personnel and event organisers to achieve goals.Assist with any equipment/ merchandise sales and attend events.Prepare all equipment.Equipment maintenance and care.Ensure all equipment is treated with care and handled responsibly as per the manufacturer's guidelines and/ or best practices.Compile SOP's for the handling and operating of all equipment, where required.Perform kit checks.Work with the content team to ensure that existing content is fault-free and suggest areas of improvement in the Inspire Africa products.Content DevelopmentWork as a subject matter expert to assist in developing course content across the respective target audiences.Apply trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design.Assist the Content team in delivering relevant course material across the respective subject matter.Assist the content development team with the creation of block-based solution code for Makecode micro:bit and Scratch projects.Any other reasonable tasks as might be requested by management.LMS and Website maintenancePerform required updates to WordPress pages on the website.Manage course bookings via the website booking tool - Amalia.Manage user access and onboarding of users (educators and students) on the Inspire Campus.Assist clients with day-to-day queries and technical issues.Social mediaAssists in uploading and scheduling campaigns and social media posts.Compile weekly social media performance reports.Key RequirementsExperience in the ed-tech industry – traditional and online.Demonstrative operational experience.Have a comprehensive knowledge of the jargon and terms used in the education industry.Proficient computer literacy (all Microsoft Office products).Proficient in basic block coding.Prepared to work after hours and weekends within reason.Must be interested in 4iR and disruptive technologies.Must be willing to travel for extended periods and occasionally work on weekends.Own transport is a requirement.Brand fit.Must be based in South Africa.Key SkillsTechnical capability and understanding.Strong presentation skills.Relationship building.Good oral and written communication.High attention to detail.Excellent negotiating and sales skills.Ability to work under pressure and be very target-driven.Composed temperament when dealing with customer complaints.Working well as part of a team, but still being able to deliver and work independently.Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans, with a third African language being beneficial.Project Management.Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification.Minimum 3 years experience in education.Application processTo apply for this position complete tasks and submit on the following link: Application Link
