A vacancy exists for a Theatre Manager Qualified based at Life Wilgers Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and coordinating the theatre complex in line with clinical protocols and Company & hospital strategic objectives.Critical OutputsConduct effective stock management by:Reviewing and maintaining the relevant inventory control reports and stock levelsEnsuring effective product managementManaging the implementation of formulary changes, accelerated product conversions and RSRT improvement initiativesCommunicate to theatre staff and doctors to comply with formulary productsLimit supplier access into theatre by ensuring the supplier representative procedure is adhered toEnsuring effective theatre utilization by effectively allocating theatre time to doctorsMinimize overtime hours by updating shift schedules and arranging call listsProviding effective people management by demonstrating visible leadership skills by sponsoring initiatives and projects and ensuring change is supportedDevelop a resourcing plan with the nursing team to ensure quality staff are recruitedProvide direction and inspire positive work behaviour in theatreDevelop learning opportunities for staff in order to ensure all staff members have a complete and relevant IDP in line with career aspirations and succession planning practicesManage performance and productivity by conducting JPM's and rewarding top performersEnsure transactional processing in relation to employee compensation and benefits is completeEnsure productive working relationships are supported by sound employee relations and compliance with the IR PoliciesManage employee wellness by implementing strategies that ensure a fair work-life balanceEstablish effective doctor relationships by taking note of doctors' requirements and addressing doctor's requestsProducing effective quality systems management by:Ensuring continuous improvement in patient safetyEnsuring compliance to ISO measurements by the identification and closure of non-conformancesConducting operations, clinical and risk management by participating in consultative forums and management meetingsProviding input in the budgeting and Capex meetingsRequirementsEffective clinical leadershipMust be Theatre qualifiedA Post-Basic Theatre qualification/DiplomaCurrent registration with SANC as a professional nurse5-8 years relevant theatre experience in a managerial capacityA relevant management qualification will be an added advantageStrong leadership skills, sound communication and inter-personal skillsThe ability to work well under pressure and assume responsibility for managing personal outputsComputer proficiencyCompetenciesProblem-solving, analysis and judgementResilienceEngaging diversityVerbal & written communication and presentationInfluencingExcellence orientationAction orientationBuilding relationshipsCustomer responsivenessOrganisational awarenessLeading by exampleMotivating and developing peopleEmail: ****** date: Thursday, September 5, 2024Internal applicants - Before making an application, you are requested to discuss your application with your line manager.
