Our Food and Beverage client is currently looking for a Team Leader Application: Food (R&D) based in Paarl, CPTRemuneration: R80 000 -R85 000 (13 cheques per year and Pension fund contribution)Working Hours: 8am-5pm, Monday to FridayROLE FOCUS: The focus areas for this position is in Bakery and Confectionery. Someone with experience in pre-mixes, muffin mixes, cookies, biscuits, etc and then on that confectionery side with hardboil candies, gummies, etc. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing the respective application team and ensuring optimum and satisfactory customer support. YOUR EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Graduate Degree/Diploma in Food Technology or similar; 3-5 years of professional experience in R&DRESPONSIBILITIES Building and developing a qualified and motivated team. Technical and disciplinary leadership, assessment and development of directly subordinate employees. Decide on individual personnel measures in coordination with HR. Responsible for and release of all personnel, material and financial budgets within the area of responsibility. Ensure compliance with the released budgets within the area of responsibility. Initiate appropriate measures in case of impending and identified deviations in coordination with the interfaces. Continuously standardising and optimising processes and organisational structures and initiating corresponding measures. Implement and ensure optimal information exchange in the area of responsibility and with the interfaces. Implementing and ensuring efficient and effective processes in the company's internal IT systems and their documentation. Driving forward the digital transformation in the area of responsibility. Develop an integrated digitization strategy in cooperation with the interfaces. Leveraging new technologies and functionalities to sustainably increase value contribution. Ensure optimization and mapping of new and existing business processes in the digital databases and systems. Ensuring the development of new recipes for customer and innovation projects and matching products, and the further development of existing recipes. Ensuring that recipes are created and maintained in SAP. Ensuring the maintenance of product-specific substance data in SAP. Optimising the recipe portfolio in terms of cost structure, resource use and quality in collaboration with Recipe Management. Ensuring the correct execution of lab trails and the creation of product samples, tastings for product developments and correct coordination and collaboration with the Sampling Lab and Pilot Plant for the production of appropriate customer samples. Implementing specifications for conducting diverse tests on product shelf life and changes, and adapting these guidelines to the respective B2C Group if necessary. Discussing with and supporting the Technical Account Manager on customer-specific circumstances, recipe formulation and filling technology. Collaborating with technical project managers and Sales (discussing briefings, clarifying questions usually for BtO processes, tasting, evaluating samples, selecting samples). Participating in customer workshops in collaboration with Product Management, Technical Project Management and Sales; arranging for samples to be produced and independently preparing and customizing customer samples during the workshop. Ensuring that production recipes, process parameters, the test plan and approval of the new recipe are checked. Evaluating and conducting measures assigned by Quality and corrective action. Implementing in-house and statutory specifications and guidelines on hygiene, HACCP, food safety, occupational safety and environmental protection.
