At South Deep, we value each person's individual and collective contribution and support your ongoing development, helping you to achieve your career and our business aspirations.POSITION: Supervisor PayrollJOB GRADING: C-UpperDEPARTMENT: Commercial ServicesSITE: South Deep Gold MineThe Supervisor Payroll is accountable for the end-to-end payroll execution for the SAP-based South Deep payroll. Further accountabilities include successful administration of all transactions, tax and reconciliations.Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 or equivalent Relevant tertiary qualification and/or Payroll related certificate or diploma At least 5 years' working experience in SAP payroll processing, execution, and reconciliation Extensive experience in SAP ERP and proficient in the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point) Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant's suitability for employment Key Competencies: Proven personal safety record Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain a robust team and business relationships through ongoing engagement and collaboration Fluent in English oral and written communication Proven track record in effective payroll processing and execution on SAP HR R3 Sound knowledge and understanding of the payroll function; tax legislation; and other employee benefits and related legislation (e.g. BCEA, UIF) Advanced proficiency in payroll accounting and reconciliations Proven ability to work independent of direct supervision, applies initiative and deadline driven Ability to work in a fast-paced and pressurised environment Proven diagnostic, problem-solving and decision-making skills Demonstrated understanding of quality control and ensuring attention to detail Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure Health and Safety of self and team members by applying relevant standards and procedures in all planning and execution of activities Contribute to the culture of Zero Harm by adhering to all requirements as laid down by legislation, Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures and by the application of specific instructions to own work area and task completion Support the delivery of day-to-day payroll execution processes, including off-cycle and month-end payroll processes, tax mid-year and year-end reconciliations and submissions Perform payroll reconciliations and compile relevant reports Manage payroll execution within agreed SLAs and performance indicators Plan and execute financial and tax year-end exercises and ensure compliance Control and monitor processes to ensure compliance to applicable procedures and legislation and identify any potential problems and improvement opportunities Provide client service to employees and ensure that any payroll related queries are resolved Closing Date: 28 August 2024Please note that the Gold Fields code of conduct strictly prohibits the exchange of any payment as part of its recruitment process.Should you require any assistance or have any challenges in applying for a position, please contact the Recruitment hub on 011411 1387Gold Fields is committed to the achievement and maintenance of diversity and equity in employmentNOTE: all relevant certificates must be attached to your CV in order to be considered for shortlisting
