Our competitive advantage lies in our wide in-house scope, meaning minimal reliance on subcontractors, quick response times, and effective feedback on our designs.The RoleYou will be responsible for : General activitiesDeveloping of intellectual property – research and development of structural- and civil applications that relates to bulk materials handlingFeasibility and analytical studies and investigation of new technologies and conceptual designsProficient in stress analysis, heat transfer, design for manufacture and material strength analysisProviding engineering structural and civil solutions and liaising with all engineering disciplines to present a complete solution to the clientPreparing of material handling equipment documentation (equipment data sheets, specifications and scope of works) for obtaining prices and for procurementAssist in component sourcing and supplier selections – liaison with suppliers or contractors to coordinate the review of drawings and documentsLiaising with third party Engineering Consultants in the development of specialised engineering solutions and equipment designKeep in touch with developments in the bulk materials handling industryOr any other tasks necessary that may occur periodically to the advantage of the employerConcept and detail design experience of steel structures with sound theoretical knowledge, mathematical and technical abilityGeneral knowledge of engineering science and technology applications especially in the bulk materials handling fieldExperience in drafting packagesHealth and Safety as well as Quality Assurance knowledgeSpecific high level leadership/management skills with good business acumenAttention to detail Project managementEnsure design is fit for purpose, fully reflect the client requirements, are cost effective and efficient to manufactureConducting technical evaluation of tenders and providing recommendations for designs, costing and technical descriptionsProject management from concept design to implementationReview and assess operational procedures at project sites with the view of developing better practical solutionsResolve technical issues throughout the design cycle as well as an ability to trouble shoot problematic operating systemsInspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specificationsOrganize personnel, suppliers and consultants to ensure timely project delivery with minimal re-workReview all documents for accuracy and completenessPreparing progress reports and payment certificates on projects Information managementAdhere to filing conventions of all documents electronicallyOversight over document controller to ensure availability of documentation Key Performance IndicatorsShow job competency by meeting goals and objectives, through required skills and technical ability and actions that will prevent a risk, loss or expense. Critical service level/job competencyCarries out assigned jobsYour presence is a contribution to reaching goalsYour work is making a tangible difference and is relevant to the operations Special SkillsAbility to handle various complex assignmentsDemonstrate special skills that increase the ability to generate additional income Accuracy of dutiesUnderstand the limits of your equipment and uses it fullyCompletion of tasks without repeating same task – sensitive to prevent mistakesAttitude to minimize damages to equipment and machinery Ideal ProfileMultiple special skills/usabilityHave developed additional skills or abilities to be enabled to add value to the production line when primary job duties are either finished or not possible e.g.
