A JSE-listed firm and Africa's pre-eminent provider of Recruitment Process Outsourcing, Managed Service Provider and permanent staffing solutions has an exciting opportunity for a results-driven Site Manager in Gauteng. The Site Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations.
Accountable for ensuring efficient production, meeting safety and quality standards, and optimizing the overall performance of the site.
Grade 12;Tertiary qualification in Industrial/Mechanical/ Operations/ Production Management preferred;Min of 3 years' of experience working in a manufacturing/production highly preferredFamiliarity with both OSHA and DOL regulations and requirements strongly preferredMechanically Inclined (electric/conveyor knowledge is a plus)People and Performance Management preferredISO 9001 advantageousOperational Efficiencies Ensure that all key processes – production, safety, and quality – are understood by employeesCoordinate inbound/outbound flow of product (forklifts and trucks)Production planning to achieve optimal plant efficiencyEnsure optimal Forklift operations – battery bay, maintenance, and servicingEnsure fast-paced, high-volume productivityManagement of site service providersMeasuresLTIFREmployee Engagement and RetentionProfitability to budgetRegulatory ComplianceAuthority/ Decision MakingQualityCustomer satisfactionEnsure correct resource allocation of all staff and service providers, in order to run the site in an operationally efficient manner.Ensure stringent site housekeeping practices are adhered to by the teamPrioritising escalations for prompt resolution and customer satisfactionApply swift action to staff queries, concerns and grievancesTake a Lead role in assisting the Client with stock takesWork closely with the Client to meet and exceed KPI'sLead staff in ad-hoc duties assigned from time to timeEnsure accurate administration procedures are adhered to regarding operational delivery of serviceLabour Relations Ensure that employee problems grievances are addressed and solved promptly and in a professional manner / attending to employee well-being issues and that documented evidence is kept on file where requiredEnsure that all employees are managed on a day to day basis in accordance with applicable labour legislation, as well as FunxionO and client labour relations policies and proceduresEnsure that all incidents involving disciplinary issues are fully investigated, recorded and acted upon in a legally defensible mannerManagement of poor performance in accordance with their job descriptions and job requirements and proper record-keeping thereofResponsible for ensuring that all disciplinary action is recorded and reported on according to FunxionO standard operating proceduresResponsible for ensuring that contingency plans are in place to deal with strikes and unplanned work stoppagesEnsure harmonious industrial relations climate on client sites through collaboration with Employee Reps and/or relevant shop stewards when requiredConduct regular meetings with employees to discuss any/other Labour Relations mattersFinancial Responsible for ensuring the site runs optimally and within agreed budgets.Assisting in the preparing of site budgets and forecastsEnsure that the site team adheres to the payroll deadlines and presents the payroll department with accurate payroll data for processingChecking, verification, and approve Payroll timeouslyReporting Compile and deliver accurate reports as per the Contract and client requirements (e.g.
KPI, overtime, disciplinary reports etc.
)Client Relationship Management Establish and build a relationship with client representativesUnderstand client requirements and ensure daily communication is maintained with the client in terms of operational service delivery requirementsAttend formal meetings at client with the Business Unit Manager when required.Develop awareness of client needs and business, identify potential growth opportunities within client, and communicate to Business Unit ManagerPerform the role of client liaison officer to build and maintain supportive partnership with the client Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of client Service Level AgreementsConduct regular meetings with ClientsAssist with CRM and investigate customer escalationsAssist with drafting documentation and auditsPeople Management Drive transformation by ensuring recruitment of high calibre staff aligned to achievement of funxionO Employment Equity targets and goalsEnsure proper selection of staff in line with the Client's SLAEnsure proper on-boarding / Induction of all new staff to FunxionO's and the Client's Policies, Procedures, Objectives and ExpectationsResponsible for establishing a positive work environment that results in a committed, motivated, productive business unit and optimal retention of staffDaily management and coaching of direct reportsCoaching of employees that models the values and culture of the companyEffective communication with the Client, Service Providers and EmployeesDirect management and oversight of all FunxionO Employees and Service Providers at the facilityEnsure site adherence to all HR policies, processes and SOPsEnsure the required team performance management, talent development, and succession plan processes are in place, and supported by individual development plans for each employeeEnsure team members are appropriately trained and developed to fulfil their roles and drive learning culture in the business unitEnsure that team is staffed with high calibre staff to drive the day to day operations and service delivery on responsible site/sSafety, Health and Environment Compliance Ensure SHEQ file is always up to date and relevantEnsure safety rules are followed and cardinal rules adhered toUphold FunxionO procedure on incident reporting and investigation in conjunction with clients procedureEnforce and promote a strong safety culture within the facility.Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards.Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective measures as needed.Compliance Ensure the required employee documentation management processes and systems are in place on all responsible sites to ensure compliance with internal, Adcorp and DoL auditsEnsure compliance with relevant legislation, client SLAs, company policies/SOPs and corporate governance requirementsEnsure effective management of health and safety and IOD processes to ensure compliance with legislation, Company guidelines and client requirementsAlong with the HR team, ensure processes associated with BBBEE and Employment Equity compliance are adhered toEnsure compliance of all service providers contracted to FunxionO and ensuring service levels are met
