Responsibilities:Policy Development and Implementation:Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety, health, environmental, and risk management policies and procedures.Ensure policies are aligned with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.Compliance Assurance:Monitor and enforce compliance with local, provincial and national safety and environmental regulations.Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and address non-compliance issues.Risk Assessment and Mitigation:Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies for mitigation.Implement measures to minimize workplace accidents, injuries, and environmental impact.Training and Awareness:Develop and deliver training programs to enhance employee awareness of safety, health, and environmental issues.Foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.Incident Investigation:Lead investigations into safety incidents, accidents, and environmental spills.Analyze root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.Emergency Response Planning:Develop and maintain emergency response plans to address potential workplace emergencies.Coordinate drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency procedures.Reporting and Documentation:Prepare and submit regulatory reports related to safety, health, and environmental performance.Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, and corrective actions.Continuous Improvement:Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance.Implement initiatives to enhance the overall effectiveness of the SHER program.
