Senior Seafreight Controller

Our client, a prominent company in the clearing and forwarding industry, is seeking an experienced Senior Seafreight Controller to join their Durban team.
This role is crucial in managing seafreight operations, and they are looking for someone who is proficient in Shipshape and can effectively coordinate customs clearance processes, particularly for bondstore operations.
As a Senior Seafreight Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end seafreight operations, ensuring efficient coordination of shipments, and managing customs clearance processes.
Your experience with Shipshape and handling bondstore clearance will be essential in ensuring compliance with customs regulations and providing excellent service to clients.
Key Responsibilities: Manage and oversee all aspects of seafreight operations, including bookings, tracking, and documentation.
Coordinate the customs clearance process for bondstore shipments, ensuring compliance with regulations.
Utilize Shipshape software to manage and track shipments efficiently.
Communicate with shipping lines, agents, and customers to ensure smooth operation and timely delivery.
Handle documentation for customs, shipping, and bondstore clearance.
Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues related to seafreight.
Maintain accurate records and ensure that all processes comply with industry regulations and company standards.
Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
Requirements: Minimum 5-7 years experience as a Seafreight Controller within the clearing and forwarding industry.
Proficiency in Shipshape software (mandatory).
Strong understanding of customs regulations and experience coordinating bondstore customs clearance.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and team members.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
