Portfolio Strategy Development : Translate the strategic intent into clear deliverables for the supporting portfolio, in line with Business plan. Development of the portfolio strategy & integrated plan for the BU's Portfolio delivery to achieve business budget commitments. Ensure all cross functional impacts and interdependencies are included into account in the Portfolio plan (IS, Business, GTM, Channels, S&D). Portfolio Planning: Develop the roadmap to deliver on the strategy across Customer Experience, Marketing, Sales, Product Management, Technical, Regulatory, Finance, Procurement and other cross functional parties. Establish a clear communication plan for the various project streams. Collaborate with MTN management team and outsourced partner to refine strategies for achieving overall objective. Formulate effective control measures to minimise business risks. Portfolio Delivery & Risk Management: Ensure an effective implementation of end to end Roadmap, by means of providing direction, support, technical and commercial frameworks, models, roadmaps, partners and products to EPMO team. Ensure all EPMO governance requirements, Ways of work, legal and regulatory and compliance requirements are met across all projects and programmes in the portfolio, delivered to the agreed quality within agreed deadlines and within allocated costs. Drive the implementation, tracking, monitoring of Projects, ensuring efficient cross functional implementation of approved projects & programmes according to the agreed delivery methodology or Agile way of work. Oversee the management and deployment of the Resource Pool, ensuring that (within the constraints of the agreed budget) resources are matched to priorities, in terms of skillsets and numbers & quality is maintained, and performance issues are addressed. Proactively review Project, Programme and Portfolio identified risk and ensure effective mitigation plans are put in place and monitored. Interface with Technology and or external resources for the prioritization, development, delivery and systems testing of products and resolve priority conflicts with all relevant Stakeholders. Collaborate with Technology and Joint delivery teams to ensure resources are allocated on Priority projects/programmes. Managing the Portfolio - Profitability & Growth: Ensure continuous improvement of processes to enhance and speed up project delivery and improve MTN profitability. Foster cross functional collaborative working relationships to the benefit of the Portfolio. Manage resource demand to ensure a balance between cost effectiveness and product/project delivery, within the agreed priorities of the BU. Continually review and evaluate project delivery for the various projects. Make recommendation for and execute changes in operations to ensure maximum effective service provision, keeping all stakeholders properly informed. Implement Portfolio evaluation measures and evaluate the effectiveness of each portfolio. Operational Excellence: Portfolio Reporting & Governance: Ensure delivery is in line with the approved methodology and guidelines as per the EPMO Way of work, as well as compliance to the Portfolio & Project Management tool requirements. Ensure all legal, regulatory and compliance requirements are met across all projects and programmes in the portfolio. Ensure that PMO processes and deliverables reflect accepted good practice, whilst recognising the constraints imposed by MTN's current level of PPM maturity. Ensure Portfolio, programme & Project Risks as reported, managed and mitigation plans are in place and executed. Ensure PMO governance compliance as well as with all relevant MTN policies and procedures. Operational excellence: Financial Management: Manage Project & Programme financials and ensure visibility of the programme & project financials. Facilitate post implementation review in line with MTN SA financial requirements and guidelines. Ensure departmental budgets (Capex and Opex) are optimised and aligned with business requirements. Manage expenditure in line with agreed budget. Ensure contract governance is in place and administered at all levels. Leadership, People & Culture: Recruit and develop talent and ensure that our people are supported to achieve their potential. Support the team through regular feedback and coaching. Define the divisional KPAs and KPIs that will be cascaded down to each area. Performance management and identification of training needs. Accountable for a customer centric culture and shift to legendary service provision. Build talent by identifying and developing new leaders for the respective environment. Champion Agile in the PMO.
