SENIOR LEGAL ADMIN OFFICER - 12 MONTHS FTCPOSITION TYPE: 12 Months Fixed Term ContractSALARY: R 58 950 PER MONTHCLOSING DATE: 12 NOVEMBER 2024JOB PURPOSE:To provide effective and efficient legal advisory and contract management support services to the Department in order to ensure that the interests of the Department are protected against all legal risks. To provide professional quality legal service to the Department.QUALIFICATIONS:LLB DegreeEXPERIENCE: At least 8 years' experience within a legal administration environmentJOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:Legal Advice and Opinion: Conduct legal research on the legal questions posed and advise on available legal options.Legislative Support: Draft and pilot Company Bills through the Parliamentary process, including drafting cabinet memoranda and publication of bills. Draft regulations on legislation administered by the department. Liaise with departmental stakeholders and the office of the Chief State Law Advisor.Contracts and International Agreements: Vet and draft domestic and international contracts or agreements.Litigation Support: Peruse court documents and consult with the relevant Company Programme. Make recommendations to the Minister on the appropriate course of action. Provide instructions to the State Attorney and private attorneys in relation to matters and attend relevant consultations, arbitrations, or hearings.
