SENIOR FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT (FMCG | Manufacturing) – Epping, Cape Town
R650 – R720 000 Per Annum Negotiable on Qualification and Years of relevant experience
Our Client, a Global FMCG Manufacturing concern is in search of a highly innovative, driven, numerically inclined and deadline driven Finance professional to join their dynamic Finance team.
This role will report into the Finance Manager.
Main Purpose of the Role:
You will be responsible for monitoring and managing the day-to-day financial operations within the company. You will also efficiently and effectively lead the financial team.
Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
Degree in Accounting and/ or similar Financial Degree or Diploma
Postgraduate Degree or Honours would be highly advantageous!
3-5 Years experience as an Accountant within the Finance Department with a minimum of 1 year's leadership of a small finance team gained
Experience gained within the FMCG / Manufacturing / Engineering / Technical / Retail related working industry is highly advantageous
Proven experience with Budgetary Management
Solid experience and expertise in Financial Procedures, Problem Solving and Decision Making
Knowledge use of Syspro highly advantageous
Strong and proven MS Excel skills is essential with proficiency in the full MS Office suite as well as proven accounting systems
Valid driver's license and own reliable transport preferred
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Coaching and Training:
Coach non-financial managers on interpreting and communicating financial data.
Analysis, Reports and Evaluation:
Assist in the preparation of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual management accounting reports and obtain input and commentary on performance, progress and reasons for variances where relevant.
Ensure that reconciliations and controls are performed and signed off timeously.
Identify and report financial irregularities and potential problems to the Senior Financial Manager.
Prepare periodic financial statements including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and obtain input and comment on the performance, progress and reasons for variances.
Control Management:
Year-End Audit preparation and Auditors Assistance
Prepare monthly income statement per branch as per requirements.
Develop and provide reports for all departments linked to Syspro, i.e. sales report, purpose report.
Prepare and distribute all reports required on time
Maintain an orderly, updated accounting filing system for all documents.
Planning, Budgets and Strategy:
Assist Heads of Departments with the preparation and review of annual budgets as well as financial reports
Assist with the preparation, consolidation and review of strategy, plans and budgets for the division and each branch (Operational and Capex)
Contribute to short-, medium- and long-term business planning.
Research financial information for audit purposes and financial reporting
Process and reconcile all bank and cash transactions
Risk and Compliance:
Comply with the necessary Occupational Health and Safety requirements
Ensure compliance to all food safety regulations, allergen control, housekeeping and pest control
Participate in personal hygiene checks
