We are seeking a Senior Bookkeeper/Management Accountant ideally from the retail sector:Requirements:Must have a driver's licence and own transport.5-7 years' experience in a bookkeeping position.Relevant Degree/Diploma preferred.Experienced in Books to Balance Sheet & Income Statement.Good knowledge of MS Excel.Experienced in Pastel Evolution.Must be able to work independently and work well under pressure.Exceptional attention to detail.Highly organized.Able to meet deadlines.Retail experience preferredExcellent communication skills. Duties and Responsibilities:Sales:Complete weekly, monthly sales report.Ensure collection of few debtors sales (Mainly internal and related companies).Ensure debtors are credit worthy.Suppliers:Review Creditors clerks' supplier's recons.Load creditors and/or sundry payments on bank and/or check creditors payments and release payments.Ensure creditors gets paid timeously to utilize discount.Cash Book and Banking:Process the cashbook payments and receipts accurately in Pastel Evolution.Reconcile cashbook to bank statement daily.Prepare daily control account reconciliations ensuring that all takings are bank timeously.Control internal discount cards and loan vouchers.Ensure enough cash in bank for debit orders, payments and transfer excess cash to investment account.Preparation of weekly cash forecasts for Management.Check/oversee staff performing parts of above mention functions.Payroll:Prepare the small internal staff payroll.Ensure hours, loan deductions, overtime, expenses, are recorded correctly.Manage record keeping filing of labour issues.Calculate department managers incentives accurately and with general managers approval.Submit Emp201's monthly and Emp501's twice a year.Check the larger outsourced staff payroll hours to the time keeping system.Check the outsourced payroll deductions are correct.Liaise with outsourced HR on any corrections or errors, timeously.Manage the admin of any graduate or learnership programs.Check that ETI for month have been calculated correctly.Report any issues to the GM.Prepare labour report monthly.Check and oversee/train staff performing parts of these above-mentioned functions.Audits, Stock Counts and Monthly Management Accounts:Assist with stock counts twice a year, if required.Audit stock count top values next day to ensure system records stock accurately.Post month end journals including any accrual and prepayment journals if required.Prepare Evolution set of books to trail balance each month and prepare Management Accounts for Senior Management to review.Prepare month end file in support of monthly management accounts.Prepare monthly vat returns (VAT201) with supporting control account reconciliation and input and output reconciliations.Monthly reporting to be completed within monthly deadlines.Prepare year end audit file containing reconciliations/support for all balance sheet accounts and resolve any audit queries if need be.Ad hoc Duties:Complete Insurance claims.Ad hoc tasks required by management e.g. GP% or expense analysis for certain storesCover/help other bookkeeper team members when they are on leave.Computer literacy:Sage Evolution (advantage)ExcelE-filingEasy File
