Front Of House Receptionist – Harbour House Hotel Harbour House Hotel in Hermanus is looking for a passionate seasonal front desk Receptionist.
The receptionist must manage and control all operational and accounting aspects of the Front Office, including Reservations.
To ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day front desk / Night Audit / Reservations operation.
Take note that this is a seasonal position.
Preference given to those with experience and residing in the area.
Minimum requirements Grade 12 certificateHospitality qualification (advantageous)Minimum 2 years' experience in the same or similar positionOpera ExperienceFamiliar with all the duties and procedures of the Front Office / ReceptionPreference given to candidates from the areaMain duties and responsibilities Responsible for adhering to operating systems and procedures for the Front Desk department in accordance with the company standards and requirements.
The departments include reservations, reception, switchboard, night audit and porterageResponsible for monitoring of guest servicesMaximise room revenue and sales and achieving maximum room ratesCross selling for other venuesResponsible for the financial aspects of front desk operation and deviances recorded, including petty cash control, daily house lists distributed, debtors passed to accounts department, banking, float checks, and day to day correspondence and filingLiaise with maintenance department and housekeeping to ensure all units are properly maintainedTake part in annual job reviewsPit checks / credit checksWake up callsAssist with airline confirmations, tourist information, personal requestsInduction and training of new employeesEmergency proceduresDue to the large amount of applications received, only candidates that meet the minimum requirements will be contacted.
