Their clients include many of the world's leading media companies, pay TV and telecoms operators and investment banks.Purpose of roleIntegrating market data and consumer research, our client is a truly unique offering allowing clients to assess sports bundles and rights packages, analyse trends in the sports media sector, and get the full picture of what drives the strategic choices of key actors in the sector.Working as part of a team of researchers, you will perform desk-based research to inform, maintain and develop the clients sports' rights tracking tools and develop an extensive knowledge of sports TV rights markets globally covering more than 9,000 individual TV rights deals, detailing information on the event, duration of the contract, buyer, buyer type, and value of the deal for 100 territories around the world.Duties and responsibilitiesFinding, monitoring and collecting details about sports rights data globally, and entering these into a media databaseData manipulation & structuring data within data sets and modelsSupport the data team in developing a media databaseSkills/ExperienceKeen interest in the global sport scene and furthering a career in DataAptitude to assimilate large quantities of information from a range of sources and entering these into an internal databaseEntry level experience in data collection, cleaning & researching will be beneficialLogical thinking, attention to detail and ability to organize information in a structured wayA talent for seeing patterns within information and understanding their implicationsGood excel skills, with demonstratable potential to learnLocation and hoursCape Town, 08.00-17.00 Monday-Friday
