REGIONAL PROGRAMME OFFICER

JOB PURPOSE
The Regional Program Officer is responsible for the planning, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of programs and projects of an organisation. They work closely with project managers and team leaders to ensure the effective delivery of programs and projects. Regional Program Officers can work on a specific program long term or manage smaller projects that contribute to an organisation's goal. Some of their duties include writing, editing, and reviewing grant proposals, managing spending and adhering to project budgets, and creating reports on program activities, expenditures, and development.
REQUIRED SKILLS FOR THE JOB
Technically competent, knowledgeable, with experience in development issues and administrative management.
Experience in proposal development and resource mobilisation is an advantage.
Ability to identify and contribute to the solution of problems/issues.
Ability to listen and co-develop solutions to resourcing needs of any unionised sector.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and thoroughness.
Ability to work under minimal supervision, be proactive, initiative, and with sound judgment.
High level of integrity and accountability, flexible approaches to work coupled with enthusiasm, commitment, and energy.
Ability to leverage limited resources and staff for maximum impact.
Ability to perform multiple tasks and work under pressure with a wide range of individuals.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-national environment.
Excellent working knowledge of computer applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
Knowledge and understanding of theories, concepts and approaches relevant to Africa's development priorities and goals.
KEY SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Writing, editing and reviewing proposals.
Managing spending and adhering to project budgets.
Strategising with top management to determine goals.
Planning and executing projects.
Developing the programme that aligns with organisational mission.
Coordinating with unions and other client stakeholders.
Creating reports on program activities, expenditures and development.
CONDITIONS OF THE JOB

The incumbent should be Johannesburg based for work.
International travel forms part of the job.
A valid driver's licence and travelling documents is a requirement. No criminal record.
