Our client based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, is seeking a Regional Head to join their team. The ideal candidate would be responsible for promoting, implementing, and developing the company's individual insurance strategy.
Responsibilities:Key responsibilities include:
Understanding the South African economy and regulatory framework of insurance/brokerage.Fostering relationships with industry associations and bodies.Maintaining a customer-focused approach.Education:MatricPassed FAIS Regulatory Exams3-year Diploma/Degree in Finance (e.g., BCOM or similar)Insurance Qualification NQF5Experience:Minimum 10 years short-term insurance experience, preferably in an intermediary environment.Previous leadership experience (at least 5 years) in similar-sized businesses in the insurance industry.Proven ability to successfully lead the broking operations function (Commercial & Personal Lines) in an intermediary environment in the insurance industry.Skills:Basic understanding of financial management.High level of knowledge and understanding of TCF and FAIS.Computer literacy and understanding of system requirements for an effective broking system.Effective communication and negotiation skills.Analytical ability and strategic analysis skills.Project management and leadership ability.Time management and problem-solving skills.Sales-oriented with proven high-level sales skills.Knowledge:Insurance and brokerage industry and environment.Legal requirements of the insurance industry.Marketing and sales management principles.Short-term insurance products and services.Risk management knowledge.Personal Attributes:Assertiveness and lateral thinking.Effective problem-solving and interpersonal effectiveness.Attention to detail and self-motivated.Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change.Creative and innovative with strategic thinking skills.Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
