Employer DescriptionOur client is a packaging manufacturer.Job DescriptionReporting to the CEO, You will manage all aspects of the manufacturing site, with a strong focus on production management, measurement tools and disciplines.Monthly budget and expenditure controlManage inbound (freight clearing, forwarding and receipting) and outbound logistics (dispatch and distribution)Implement and work with warehouse management systems and tools Warehouse layout, stacking, barcoding and scanning, binning, traceabilityFull responsibility for inventory control and procedures (on site and off site) Cycle counting, month end stock counts and recons, consignment stock, Annual auditing (external), MRPSupplier contract negotiating (pricing, annual review, audits and evaluation)Quality system compliance (ISO 9000, FSSC 22000) and other certification bodies (FSC, PEFC, Fibre Circle, CGSO)Responsible for Health, Safety, Security, Fire and RiskExtensive production planning experience within a complex environmentMust have a very good understanding of production and process flowsSound knowledge of mechanical and electrical applications (maintenance, machines, projects)Manage all IT requirements and risksResponsible for on-site Administration functions (creditors, month end reporting, annual BBBEE/EE reports, annual budget, annual audit prep, BOMs, procedures and policies, Supplier SLAs)Sound knowledge of the Labour Relations Act, negotiating and dealing with Employee UnionsWork closely and in tandem with the Factory Manager ProductionQualificationsDegree/Diploma in Production Management/Industrial Engineering /Operations Management.Business Management Degree/MDP/Diploma (added advantage)Skills15-20 years experience in a senior management role, managing all aspects of a manufacturing site.Strong focus on production management, measurement tools and disciplinesComputer literate MS Office, SYSPRO, Shopware
