In South Africa, we have mining operations in the Northern Cape province, a head office in Centurion, Gauteng, and a port operation in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape.Job DescriptionAs our Psychometrist, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Safety and HealthModel behaviour that aligns with health, safety, and environmental standards, the Group's values, and professional workplace norms.Actively participate in Safety Leadership and Management (SLAMs), High Potential Hazards (HPHs), relevant risk assessments, and complete assigned safety action items to maintain a safe work environment.Collaborate effectively with leaders, peers, and other teams to achieve safety and business objectives.Performance and DeliveryEnsure line managers accurately apply and integrate assessment feedback to support effective appointments and employee development, aligned with Kumba's assessment processes.Schedule, administer, and interpret psychometric assessments; deliver timely, accurate assessment reports and recommendations to line managers and employees under the supervision of an Industrial Psychologist.Execute assessment centres tailored to client needs and offer expert advice on interview techniques, rating scales, and psychological tests to assist in employee selection and development.Maintain high standards in the interface with third-party service providers to ensure timely and professional delivery of psychometric reports.Ensure qualified practitioners conduct assessments and that results are conveyed sensitively to empower employees and management.Securely file and archive psychological documentation, preventing unauthorized access and safeguarding the confidentiality and integrity of psychometric materials and results.Manage the invoicing process for third-party payments to ensure prompt processing.The Work: Key Outputs and AccountabilitiesAssist the Resident Industrial Psychologist with career counselling and Industrial Psychology Service (IPS) projects and support the tactical implementation of IPS at the Operation.People and TeamsFoster collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to support shared goals and objectives.Provide training and mentorship to Industrial Psychology interns if appointed by Kumba, supporting their professional development.ComplianceComply with all legal and organisational policies and procedures relevant to psychometric assessments.Adhere to ethical standards and guidelines established by the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and organisational policy.Report discrepancies or unethical practices within the IPS field to maintain the highest professional standards.This role is in People & Organisation (P&O) NC department on a band 7.8 level reporting to the Specialist Talent & Capability (Northern Cape Hub)QualificationsGrade 12B Degree (Hons) in Industrial Psychology or similarRegistered Psychometrist with HPCSAValid SA Drivers LicenseTechnical Knowledge2-3 years of post-registration experience as a Psychometrist.Working knowledge of psychological assessment techniques, tools, and norms, including their application to talent management, recruitment, and development processes.Familiarity with ethical guidelines and legal requirements for psychological assessments as defined by HPCSA and organisational policies.Knowledge of Kumba's talent management strategies and goals for aligning assessment feedback and recommendations with business needs.Advanced understanding of compliance with HPCSA and company policies related to psychometrics, ethical assessment practices, and regulatory guidelines.Additional InformationWho we are?Anglo American is a global diversified mining business.
