Project Engineer: Reman (4842) Company : Komatsu South Africa Division : Head Office Department : Reman SA Location : Germiston Reference Number : 4842 Grading : D2 Closing Date : 15 January 2025 Introduction Komatsu South Africa is seeking a skilled Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineer to join the Remanufacturing Division at Komatsu Africa Holdings in Germiston.
This role involves leading engineering and process optimization initiatives and delivering value-added services to internal operations.
Job Responsibilities SHEQ Compliance Implement and recommend changes to ensure compliance with legislation .
Lead the team in reviewing designs, facilitating implementation, and maintaining the Management System .
Coordinate training programs to promote safety consciousness and improve proficiency in safe practices.
Project Management Plan and execute continuous improvement projects .
Perform project management tasks and update project plans during rollouts.
Engage with Production & Reman Division (KLTD) on project planning and implementation.
Compile and update manuals, procedures, and other relevant documentation.
Technical Development and Leadership Stay updated on technical developments, tools, and best practices in mechanical engineering , management , and equipment maintenance .
Lead, coordinate, and support improvement initiatives aimed at internal process, system, and infrastructure enhancements .
Value-Added Services Conduct site investigations and technology studies to improve production costs and increase component part reuse.
Requirements Qualifications BSc/BEng in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering (essential).
A Certificate in Project Management is advantageous.
Experience 3 years post-graduate experience in relevant engineering fields.
Experience in asset management is beneficial.
Proficiency in project management and process optimization .
Specific Knowledge Requirements Strong understanding of engineering fundamental principles (essential).
Experience in data extraction, reporting , and reliability analysis.
Familiarity with ISO standards , Kaizen methodologies , and cost analysis .
Expertise in conducting feasibility studies and providing strategic engineering input for project planning and execution.
