We are seeking a Project Accountant for a 3 year contract based in Makhanda (Grahamstown), Eastern Cape. Applicants are required to meet the following criteria: NQF6 or higher-level qualification in Accounting / Finance5 years working experience in accounting / bookkeeping / financial admin position, preferably in the public sectorAt least 2 years work experience in a supervisory capacityGood knowledge of GRAP, IFRS, PFMA, Treasury Regulations, SCM / related actsMust have worked and actively participated in bid processesExperience in internal / external auditsKnowledge and exposure to preparation of AFSAble to inspect / advise on corrections required on payroll processing and statutory reportingExperience in electronic banking processingExperience in data analytics and report writingHigh level of experience in MS Office and computer-based finance packages e.g. Sage PastelAble to perform bookkeeping function up to Trial Balance effectively / efficientlyAble to analyse financial statements & reportsPrepare, manage and review budgetsGood knowledge of budgeting / reporting to oversight bodies and National TreasuryGood English communication skillsThe successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to: Comprehensive & professional accounting and financial admin functionBudget allocation and tracking expenditure patternsSalary: R467 670 CTC per annum for the contract duration.
