Production Supervisor

RequirementsGrade 12 or NQF level 4 qualification.Production Supervisor or food-related qualification.Confectionary Manufacturing experience (Advantageous)5 years working experience in a food environment.Job DutiesPeople and Safety: Excellent leadership and management qualities. Ability to interact in an effective manner with all levels of the organization. Previous experience of people management and demonstrated ability in people motivation, organizing and team building. Self-motivated, managing a team with a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and to lead/motivate others. Supervising employees in the manufacturing of food products, ensuring safety, good quality products and productivity. Manage human capital and absenteeism. Disciplinary experience. Process IODs and report any safety incidents. Serve as Safety Rep (training will be provided). Assist in ensuring staff works safely and in a safe environment. Training and Development of production employees. Operations: Safe and efficient production. Meet plant KPIs and targets. Downtime reduction through tracking downtime and planning maintenance. Monitor production quality and take corrective action. Minimize waste. Right first-time approach on all tasks. Work overtime/ night shift as and when requested. Stock Management: Raw material planning and control. Monthly stock takes. Ensure deliveries are made according to plan. Management of raw material consumption rates ensuring records accuracy and daily mass balance for traceability of product. Quality: Good knowledge of GMPs/HACCP/FSSC 22000 regulatory requirements, housekeeping and health and safety (Advantageous). Experience and knowledge of internal/external auditing practices are (Advantageous). Adherence to Health & Safety, Quality, Food management System, HACCP and Good Hygiene & Housekeeping practices.
