This position is based at our Wessels Mine which represents one of the largest manganese reserves in South Africa.WHAT SOUTH32 OFFER:Eligible employees will receive an employer contribution towards the company-elected retirement fund.South32 will support assistance for part-time studies aligned to role requirements and business needs at accredited institutions to eligible employees.ABOUT THE ROLE:This role is a permanent full-time position.As anOperator Hauler/Mobile Equipmentyou will be responsible for conducting risk assessment before all tasks and identify risk and hazards.Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:• Participate in investigations into workplace incidents;• Report any unsafe behaviour, conditions and incident to the responsible person;• Conduct pre-use inspections, routine inspections and report defects;• Operate mobile equipment based on operational requirements.ABOUT YOU:You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:• Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in operating mobile equipment in a mining environment;• Mining production experience in underground mining operation is essential;• A minimum of two valid equipment licenses on either CAT ADT30 Hauler, other relevant licenses ( Rock breaker, Loader, Water bowser, Dozer, Bob Cat, Normet scaler) will be advantageous .Qualifications for this role are:• G rade 10 for internal candidates only and Grade 12 with Mathematics for external employees;• Valid Code B or C1 Driver's License is essential;• Competency A Certificate is advantageous.South32 is committed to building and maintaining an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the communities in which we operate.
