RPO Recruitment is excited to announce an opportunity for a Product Line & Development Manager based in Johannesburg.
Our client, a prominent player in the Plastic industry, is looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to lead their product line strategy and development initiatives.
As the Product Line & Development Manager, you will be key in identifying market opportunities, driving product innovation, and ensuring that products meet customer expectations.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective product strategies that align with the company's goals and enhance market competitiveness.
Responsibilities Oversee the product line strategy, including product development, positioning, and lifecycle management.
Identify market trends and consumer needs to inform product development and innovation.
Work closely with R&D, marketing, and sales teams to develop new products and improve existing ones.
Manage product development projects from concept to market introduction, ensuring timely delivery.
Conduct competitive analysis to identify strengths and weaknesses in the product line and recommend improvements.
Develop and execute product marketing strategies to maximize market share and profitability.
Collaborate with external stakeholders, including suppliers and distributors, to ensure product success.
Monitor product performance and make data-driven recommendations for enhancements or discontinuation.
Lead and mentor a team of product development professionals to achieve departmental goals.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in engineering, Product Design, or a related field is required.
MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in product development or product line management, preferably in plastic injection moulding or a related manufacturing industry.
Proven track record of successfully launching new products and managing product lines.
In-depth knowledge of plastic injection moulding processes and tooling.
