JOB TITLE: Senior Product Manager – TP-Link AREA: Midrand, Gauteng, South Africa INDUSTRY: ICT Components and Peripherals Salary / CTC: R 50 000 – R 58 000 (depending on current earnings, qualifications and experience) Report to: Operations Director Job Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for driving internal TP-Link sales and product processes to achieve targets, acting as a bridge between the internal brand team, the organization's sales teams and the vendor.
Key Responsibilities: Understand and implement the client's strategy and policies in alignment with productProvide product support (PDF Spec Sheets, Web Info, Sales Support, Customer Support-Systems Integrators)Produce and review reports and target tracking informationEngage with all relevant parties at our client and subsidiary companiesEnsure product pricing and product positioning is relevant and updatedAssist Sales staff to produce accurate quotationsAssist stakeholders with product codes, pricelists and costingMaintain pricelists on internal systemsEnsure all stakeholders are alignedProvide pre-sales and post-sales support to Sales teamsDrive sales and orders on active and aging stock strategicallyManage web page product updatesAttend weekly Sales meetings and assist in resolving stock issuesSupport the Logistics and Warehouse teams with vendor recallsProcess sales orders and purchase orders on ERP system from local and international suppliersAssist in the operations and usage of the 'order managing process' to maintain service and stock levelsManage and track rebates and incentives received from suppliersLiaise with suppliers for procure, receive and utilize promotional funds and materials Maintain relationships with customers to understand their requirements and incorporate these into the stock forecastingFacilitate, organize and provide relevant product training internally and to the different branchesKeep up-to-date and continuously improve and develop product knowledgeStay constantly updated with all developments and trends in the Retail and Consumer marketEXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE: A minimum of five years of working experience in a Product Management environment.A minimum of 3 years' experience in a Distribution environmentIT Distribution experience will be an advantageNetworking knowledge and understanding will be very beneficialMust understand the IT market and the specific needs around the different market segments (sub- distributors, select resellers, resellers, and end-users)Understanding of product knowledgeUnderstand technology roadmapsUnderstand the Logistics/Warehouse processExperience working in IT Sales will be an advantageRetail experience will be advantageous.Business networking skills and experienceExperience working in a customer service environmentSKILLS AND EDUCATION: Matric with mathematics is essential,Sales and Marketing tertiary qualification and/or a relevant diploma will be an advantageAbove average administration skills with attention to detailExcel Spreadsheet knowledge in drawing up and utilizing reports (stock management, product reordering, aging stock, etc.
