REQUIREMENTSA degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or N62-4 years experience in a complex manufacturing environmentGear manufacturing experience coupled with machining experience will be highly beneficialUpdate and maintain all Control Plan and FMEA RPN reduction activitiesCoordinate and improve process capabilities throughout the plantExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and knowledge of GD&TStrong initiative and the ability to work well in a team environmentGood understanding of core toolsRESPONSIBILITIESMaintain all associated PPAP documentation, inclusive of PFMEA, flow charts, Control Plans, process sheets, operator instructions, etc.Specify/ improve our manufacturing control systems to deliver safe and efficient manufacturing systemsModify SAP/ Mapics process routing on new material/ model releasesContinually improve right-first-time/ FTT metrics through data analysis and process improvementsDocument changes made to processes with strict adherence to the change management control systemFollow/ implement controls and policies to ensure equipment safety for new/ existing equipmentConstruct and maintain project timing plans where applicableAssist other members of the department in achieving the departmental objectivesParticipate in and contribute to cross-functional APQP meetings for project launchesInterface with the company's internal project management, applications engineering and design engineering teams to ensure that the product is designed for manufacture and time of introduction is known and planned for through stages of pre-production to production implementationDevelop, implement, and prove new model variants to existing lines to meet APQP gateways from concept validation to PSW including a customer-attended run at the rateDocument process capacity and continually seek ways to improve the bottleneck cycle timeEnsure that the technical requirements for the process are captured from the PFMEA and control plan, specified in the tender, ordered, and proved off against the PPAP documentationMaintain action plans and RFT/ FTT trackers for Improvement focus themesAttend regular meetings reporting on action progress to improve equipment safety and RFT/ FTT performanceCarry out GR&R, capability studies and poke yoke detection tests to ensure processes are sufficiently robust to achieve plant RFT/ FTT targets whilst protecting the customer with defect-free deliveriesWork closely with the maintenance and controls teams to reassess equipment/ process design to prevent repetitive downtime eventsProvide process support to help the team diagnose equipmentDesign and manufacture of simple jigs and fixtures plus modifications to existing toolingAutoCAD and MS Office (inclusive of Visio and Project) are ideal but not essentialTravel as necessary to support the company's operations and affiliates
