Plant Operator

Qualifications:Education: National Senior Certificate (Matric or similar)Experience: Basic computer skills and the ability to recognize trends and anomalies in operational data.Other Requirements:Valid Drivers LicenseBasic first aid and firefighting skills (preferred)Key Responsibilities:Plant Operation & Monitoring:Monitor and control all operational parameters using SCADA.Operate machinery, follow start-up/shut-down procedures, and log operational data.Visually monitor effluent and feed streams; conduct effluent and gas sampling.Report critical production figures and anomalies.Maintenance:Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot equipment.Attend to breakdowns and maintain housekeeping standards on-site.Manage contractors and complete equipment checklists.Stock Control:Monitor raw material usage and manage spare parts stock.Ensure clean, organized storage areas.Laboratory Work:Conduct lab tests, record results, and manage lab consumables.Maintain lab equipment and coordinate external testing.Health & Safety:Adhere to H&S procedures, maintain the H&S file, and report incidents.Regularly check safety equipment (fire equipment, spill kits, etc.).Admin & Supply Chain Support:Assist with clock-in/out, manage overtime reconciliation, office supplies, and supplier communications.If you have the ability to troubleshoot effectively in a team, are keen on working shifts, and meet the qualifications listed above, we want to hear from you!
