Machine Shop Planner

Job Description

Determine if work is to be done internally or to outsource work
Planning of internal allocated jobs including raw material requirement allocation, obtaining of approved drawings, machine and people allocation, routing of parts and estimating of time required per work station.
Allocation of external jobs to relevant suppliers, placing of orders, time estimation and follow up.
Manage delivery dates of parts
Communicate with customers if specified delivery dates will be affected.
Proactively support people management
Work closely with FMS Manager and Floor Team leaders to understand customer requirements and discuss progress
Support continual business improvement and change management
Comply with governance and established policies, systems, procedures and practices
Comply with Safety, Health and Environment standards

Qualifications & Experience

NTC2 Mechanical Trade Test in the following Trades Fitting or Machining or tool and Die Maker
3 –5 years' shop floor experience in engineering Planning ( Machining , Fitting , grinding )
Knowledge of the OHS and Explosives Acts
At least 2-3 years' experience in excel and working with schedule systems.
Knowledge in SAP R 3 .
Knowledge of planning, estimating and costing in an engineering spares environment
Knowledge of machine shops and related tasks, e.g. grinding, turning, milling and fitting
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
