Job OverviewAs a Pharmacy/Production Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our client's pharmacy and ensure the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical services.You will be responsible for managing a team of pharmacists and pharmacy assistants, optimising workflow efficiency, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.Minimum Requirements:Minimum of bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm)1-6 years' related work experiencePharmaceutical Production Experience and Retail Pharmacy ExperienceRegistration with Pharmacy CouncilSpecific Job Skills:Comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing, standards, and compliance requirementsAbility to interpret and implement policies, processes, and objectivesEntrepreneurial spirit and a proactive approach to problem-solvingHighly organised with strong time management skillsExcellent leadership and team-building skillsUnderstanding of the complementary medicine's environmentStrong financial acumen and business acumenInformation gatheringInterrogating informationTaking actionDuties & Responsibilities:Planning and Procedures:Plan and prioritise daily, weekly, and monthly activitiesDetermine, request, and use resources/assets optimallyInspections and Verifications:Verify certified clean status of equipmentVerify, review, and approve verification of measuring equipment performance, calibrations, and sampling, and dispensing of materialsLine & Production Processing:Perform, review, and approve line sign-no's, closures, and clearance authorisationsPerform, review, and approve batch reconciliations to product specifications and qualityEnsure production process adherence to standards and specificationsProcess and System Improvements:Manage review, and approve change control programs and deviations/concessions comply to standards and specificationsManage and resolve customer complaintsOptimise processes and identify gaps in policies/proceduresDrive Corrective Action and Preventative Action investigations in area of focusCompliance & Auditing:Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including those set forth by the South African Pharmacy Council and other relevant authoritiesPerform and review shift Good Manufacturing Practice checks, and agent expiry dates, and ensure continued complianceVerify good document practice as per Standard Operating Procedures and regulationVerify the identity of bulk product and printed packaging materials, and conduct intermix checks to assess uniformityVerify In Process Controls are in line with product quality and specificationsReview and approve preliminary batch recordsAudit logbooks and systemsTroubleshooting:Investigate deviations and concessions, and assess riskRaise deviations and implement corrective actionRaise maintenance notifications as and when requiredTraining and Technical Expertise:Provide clinical guidance and support to pharmacy staff, including counselling patients on medication use and adherenceTrain new Pharmacists and Post Basic Assistance on SOP's in transition periodIdentify refresher or awareness training needsAdministration & Record Keeping:Monitor inventory levels and ordering processes to maintain adequate stockComplete batch records and labelsQuery documents and sign off declarationsPerform and verify calculations in relation to production targetsMaintain and update records and systems as requiredRetrieve supporting documentation and records to facilitate and support query resolution
