PRIME PURPOSE OF THE POSITION The Payroll and General Administrator's responsibilities include collecting timesheets, calculating wages, verifying working hours, issuing deductions from wages or other earnings statements to workers, calculating employment benefits, distributing payment statements and responding to questions about taxes, deductions and employee benefits remaining in alignment with policies and procedures and in compliance with the appropriate legislation and regulations.

REPORTING LINE This position will report to the Head of Supply, Lona Foods (Pty) Ltd.
KEY RESULT AREAS PAYROLL Gathering and examining timesheets for the wage-earning staff to ensure their validity.Ensuring that compensation for overtime work is calculated at the appropriate rate and that annual leave is calculated accordingly, if applicable.Confirming that legally mandated and optional deductions have been input and processed correctly.Performing all tasks well before the pay run to ensure that staff members are compensated and notified on time.Addressing queries about payroll-related issues.Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures, and reporting needed changes.Protect employee and payroll records and operations by keeping information confidential.Administrative processing of new hires and terminations.Monitoring, reporting and analysis of trends relating to month-to-month payroll variances i.e. overtime costs etc.Any ad hoc duties and responsibilities given by senior management.ADMINISTRATION Prepare and issue fixed term seasonal employment contracts when required.Onboard fixed term seasonal employees.Address all HR related enquiries from seasonal employees.Record keeping of all the leave, savings deductions;Purchasing of electricity tokens for all the onsite farm employees;Managing the Company website for email related queries;Assist with the SMETA Audits;Injury on duty registration and administration involved;Managing the Provident Fund onboarding and monthly reconciliations on the Sanlam portal.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Grade 12Computer literacy – MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)Finance / Payroll background (Advantageous)3 years' experience in payroll environmentSage 300 VIP experience (Advantageous)Donkerhoek (payroll system) experience (Advantageous)KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED Ability to work under pressure.Proven and strong administration skills.Ability to work extended hours where required.Numerical proficiency.High attention to detail.Communicate in a professional manner with people at all levels.Deadline driven.Independent operator.Professional, punctual and organized.Self-motivated and able to work independently.Flexible and adaptable to change.If you are interested in this position and possess the listed requirements, please forward your CV to ****** by no later than Monday, 06 January 2025.
