Packhouse Operations Manager

Job DescriptionFarm Manager SA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Packhouse Operations Manager to join our team.ResponsibilitiesStaff Management: Identify and promote staff members who demonstrate a strong work ethic in the packhouse, and provide guidance and support to ensure they reach their full potential.Productivity and Efficiency: Minimize non-productive time and incentivize productivity in the pack line, ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently.Food Safety and Security: Monitor and maintain high standards of food safety and security, and take corrective action as necessary to prevent any issues.Transportation and Logistics: Assist with the transportation of staff for early and late shifts, and ensure that all necessary arrangements are made.Training and Development: Train staff in quality control and maintain the efficiency of the pack line, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards.Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain stock levels of all packaging material, and place orders with suppliers in a timely manner to avoid any disruptions to our operations.RequirementsExperience: Previous packhouse experience, including preparation and undertaking of audits for retailers, is essential.Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of BRC, HACCP, and Global GAP accreditation is advantageous, as is production and management experience, computer literacy, and the ability to work with IT systems and packaging machinery.Personal Qualities: The successful candidate will be a non-smoker, able to maintain meticulous record keeping and health and safety standards, and communicate effectively with other team members.
