Key ResponsibilitiesManage Supt's, artisans and contractors successfullyManage after-hour breakdown situationsConform to legal requirements for the Business Unit as per the OHS Act 85 of 1993Ensure and adhere to all maintenance related activities and systemsManage and adhere to service requirementsAdhere to SHERQ standards, clean and organize workplaceBudget and cost controlShutdown planning with role playersAdapt and respond to changeDisplay leadership characteristics during interactions with subordinates, colleagues, and other departmentsEffective communication to persuade and influence stakeholdersResults orientation to achieve personal and work goalsDeliver results as per balanced scorecard in meeting stakeholder expectationsManagement of maintenance inventoriesLead internal maintenance projects, including identified projects of a capital natureInitiate and implement improvement projects and ideas that have a strategic and long-term impactDetermine root cause of incidents, failures etc. and implement corrective/preventative measuresQualificationsB-Eng Degree (NQF 8/10) in Metallurgical / Electrical EngineeringPreferably a Management Development ProgramExperience and RequirementsMinimum 8 years experience in a Production and Maintenance environmentExperience in managing budgetsSAP and computer literateKnowledge of labour relationsKnowledge and experience of maintenance/production systems, specifically focusing on manufacturing systems including Mechanical Drive Systems, Hydraulic systems, Electrical control systems and Drives, Overhead Cranes and conveyor systemsExperience, knowledge and understanding of the OHSAS 18001:2007, ISO 14001:2004, ISO 9001:2008 codesKnowledge of the Iron Making process and interaction with customersGeneral knowledge of safetyPersonal AttributesHigh-level leadership skillsHighly motivatedAnalytical, benchmarking, problem solving, coordination and facilitation skillsDynamic, results-driven, with a high energy levelAble to develop and maintain excellent business relationships
