MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Grade 12Strong mechanical, electrical and maintenance knowledge and experienceRelevant Trade qualification is essentialMinimum 5 years as a qualified artisan in a production environment, with electrical experience suited to a production environment.Basic knowledge of plumbing, refrigeration, boiler making, rigging, etc.Experience working in the Agricultural Packhouse industry will be advantageous KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED Good communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to be a team leader and playerExcellent troubleshooting skills and ability to take initiativeStrong time management, planning and preparation abilityGood attention to detailAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesProven MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.)Proven skills in electrical planning, wiring, fault finding, and maintenance of motors, drives, gearboxes, conveyors, etc.KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS OperationsSupervise, coordinate and plan preventative maintenance schedules on equipment, machinery and buildingsOrganizing and coordinating the material and human resources required to complete jobsAssist with the installation of new equipment and seamless integration of new systemsParticipate in establishing work schedules. Ensure that the schedules are correctly executedEnsure forklifts (fleet) maintenance, repairs, and servicesCross-Departmental CollaborationData-Driven Decision-MakingImplement and promote practices that enhance energy efficiency and sustainability in maintenance operations.Energy ManagementParts availability management.Communication and ReportingIdentify and address potential issues before escalation by keeping open lines of communication with all departments. Establish feedback loops to continuously improve communication and processes.ManagementDevelop and implement a proactive/preventative maintenance strategyPlanning, managing and controlling the maintenance budgetsManage and oversee workshop and spare parts areaManaging and planning a digital maintenance system (CMMS)ComplianceEnsure all compliance-related maintenance tasks, including certification (COC), services and repairs, are completed as requiredAdherence to policies and regulationsHealth and SafetyEnsure the efficient and safe operation of all materials and handling equipmentEnsure safety protocols are followed and implementedRisk mitigation and hazard managementHuman ResourcesManage staff performance, discipline, and trainingSuccession Planning ONLY short-listed candidates will be contacted
