Maintenance Manager

Position Overview:

Responsible for managing all aspects of the maintenance and repairs of the manufacturing plant. It includes the upkeep of all manufacturing assets, managing maintenance budget where applicable and assisting in the design and installation of potential new systems. In addition, this position is responsible for liaising with contractors and service providers, if required. The goal is to ensure that facilities are in a good and safe condition at all times and that all equipment is running efficiently.

Requirements:
Technical High School education of at least a grade 12.
Red Seal Qualified electrician.
Technical tertiary education would be an advantage.
Proven experience as maintenance manager or similar role.
Experience in a manufacturing plant an advantage.
Strong technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, etc.)
Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations.
Excellent planning and leadership abilities.
Knowledge of various crafts such as electrical, plumbing, mechanical, Numatics etc.
A strong maintenance technical knowledge is essential.
Other skills required:
A hands-on person who needs to get their hands dirty.
Leadership and knowledge of administrative tasks such as scheduling are also essential.
A keen eye for detail.
Good physical stamina and flexibility.
Well organized and apt in problem solving.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable.
Computer savvy
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
Overall maintenance of the plant in terms of appearance and repairs.
Ensuring all equipment and fixtures, including shopfitting related items are in a good, clean, functional condition.
Inspecting facilities regularly to determine problems and necessary maintenance needed.
Addressing any problems identified timeously.
Preparing weekly preventative maintenance schedules and maintaining such.
Recruiting, supervising and training maintenance technicians.
Supervising tradesmen/contractors during installations, repairs or maintenance (electricians, plumbers etc.)
Inspecting and maintaining building systems (refrigeration, drainage etc.)
Contributing to the development of the maintenance budget and ensuring compliance.
Monitoring and maintaining the inventory of materials and equipment, where applicable.
Participating in the coordination of major projects.
Ensuring adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations.
Performing monthly site inspections at all company stores, on a tacit agreement, within the Gauteng region and actioning where appropriate.
Performing any other reasonable duty as instructed my management
