Position Overview Key role in developing and performing analysis to explain South Africa's performance to both Local Office management and support the Head of FP&A and other EMEA Finance team members. This role will also have responsibility for future looking reporting to help the business achieve its strategy.
Responsibilities Lead and coordinate all necessary analysis for the South Africa region, ensuring reporting meets standards and is consistent with reporting throughout the region. This will include:Production of quarterly and monthly (where required) financial analysis across all product lines and in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS 17.Preparation of quarterly reporting decks/presentations.Assist the COO with reporting to the South Africa Exco.Other ad-hoc reporting/analysis including local regulatory, tax and Prudential reporting requirements. This role is expected to be the key contact point for any local regulatory reporting.Liaise on a regular basis with EMEA's Expense Management team:Support to ensure reporting and analysis for local, regional and global expenses is accurate.Support to ensure key drivers of expense KPI (ETER) are understood.Key contact for collaboration with EMEA Expense Management Team during annual Budget submission for South Africa, including review of direct expenses, headcounts and IUC charges.Coordinate annual Plan submission for South Africa, across all product lines alongside the Head of Valuation. This will include providing regular updates to COO and Head of FP&A.Lead quarterly Forecast submissions for South Africa as & when required, across all product lines.Provide input to support updates and reporting for South Africa strategy as required by either local management or EMEA CFO.Develop strong working relationships with COO, Head of Valuation, Head of Operations, Managing Director and other key members of management and Exco as needed. Also required to liaise with other members of the EMEA Finance team on a regular basis.Other tasks, duties and special projects as assigned by the Head of FP&A and the COO as required.Requirements Professional accountancy qualification, e.g. ACA, ACCA or equivalent with 4+ years post-qualified experience.Experience with insurance or reinsurance company financial and regulatory reporting or within the finance function of a financial services company or accounting firm.
