Employer Description A 5 Game Lodge located in Madikwe (Big 5 Maleria Free Reserve), in the North West Province. Job Description FIELD GUIDE : Field Guide / Game Ranger in Madikwe Game Reserve (Big 5 area) Conducting Game Drives & Bush walks with guests Overall responsibility to ensure a high quality bush experience to assigned guests Being part of Rhulanis Ranger team of 5 guides in total Prepared to help in other areas of the lodge, especially in maintenance, if required FRONT OF HOUSE & RESERVATIONIST : Administrative tasks at Rhulani Safari Lodge, an 18 bed, award winning 5 star lodge in Madikwe Game Reserve (Big 5 area) Reservation, preparation of offers and bookings in the reservation system Handling requests from guests and travel partners via the phone and e-mail Taking care of guests concerns during their stay Check-in and check-out for arriving and departing guests Control of incoming payments and payment requests Assistance with administrative work at the end of the month including stock control Willingness to help with daily work, even outside the office, such as room control checks, hosting during dinner times Reports to the Lodge Manager Qualifications Field Guide : Experience on the job as a field guide in a similar environment (Big5 reserve) and at a lodge of similar level (high end, 5 Star). FGASA Level 2 qualification. PDP. Full Trails Guide qualification and being able to conduct bush walks will be considered as a plus. Front of House Relevant Hospitality Qualification Skills As a field guide you need to have excellent communications and entertaining skills. Team-Player who feels well being part of small team of rangers. Experience on a similar job in an environment and at a lodge at similar level, or degree from a hotel management school. Experience with administration and reservation systems, knowledge of Panstrat a plus. Computer skills in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and others. Excellent communications skills in English, written and oral. Team-player who feels well being part of a team with flat hierarchies and direct communication channels. Works calmly and solution-oriented and remains calm as a leader in emergencies and crises. Willingness to work and live in the bush (on a 6 weeks on / 2 weeks off cycle). Benefits Accommodation.
