Details of the offer

About The Role
HCR is a Top 60 law firm with 10 offices across England & Wales. As a full-service law firm, our people provide an approach to our clients that is deemed different. Instead of being loud about who we are and what we do, we've been focused on building services that solve our clients' problems. The same ethos is seen in our group services, and our HR team is fundamental to this. Serving a firm of over 850 people, we ensure we deliver on all things people-related, which is why we are delighted to be recruiting for an HR Operations Team Leader to join our busy team. The role is based at the heart of the firm in Worcester.
As the HR Operations Team Leader, you will lead a small, dedicated team focused on delivering exceptional service to our talented and committed workforce. In this role, you'll oversee the full lifecycle of HR operations, from onboarding and HR policy management to benefits administration, payroll, and contract changes. Your expertise in streamlining, simplifying, and enhancing administrative processes will be crucial as you help redesign key components of our HR systems, leveraging your knowledge of Excel and HRIS.
This is a unique opportunity to build and refine HR operations from the ground up within an environment that fully embraces change. You'll be responsible for driving process improvements and aligning operational procedures with our organisational goals, while continuously enhancing the employee experience through strategic use of technology.
Key Responsibilities:

HR Operations Management:

Oversee lifecycle management processes, including onboarding, policy management, system maintenance, benefits administration, payroll, and contract changes.
Administer payroll processes, ensuring compliance with contractual and policy entitlements.
Lead the execution of annual HR plans, such as appraisals, bonus distribution, and benefits renewals.
Revamp and streamline HR operational processes, driving continuous improvement aligned with organisational goals.

Systems & Data Analytics:

Drive HRIS improvements to automate processes and enhance operational efficiency.
Utilise data to support decision-making, analysing metrics like staff turnover, cost per hire, and gender pay reporting.
Generate insightful reports to inform strategic HR decisions.

Reward & Benefits:

Administer bonus schemes and annual pay review processes.
Manage the administration of employee benefits, ensuring accurate and efficient service delivery.

Team Leadership:

Lead a small HR operations team, managing competing priorities and proactively balancing team capacity.
Foster a collaborative environment and support team development.

Compliance & Performance:

Ensure legal compliance across all HR activities, staying informed about legislative updates.
Champion a performance-driven culture, continually reviewing productivity and supporting team development.

About You
We are looking for someone with a passion for people and an ability to solve complex problems. Your commercial acumen, credibility, and strong IT skills will enable you to navigate data effectively and optimize processes. You should have a good working understanding of employment law, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, ever-changing environment.
This role is ideal for an HR professional who values exceptional customer service and is comfortable working with processes and systems. You'll be willing to get under the skin of things, professionally curious, and willing to get stuck in with the team. If you're a Senior HR Advisor / Business Partner with a keen eye for data and a desire to step away from ER management, this could be the perfect next step in your career.
Benefits of working with us:

Scottish Widows Pension Scheme
27 days annual leave (plus public holidays)
Bonus scheme
Electric vehicle scheme
Happy People / Perks at Work benefits portal
Cycle to Work scheme
Life Assurance
1/3 gym membership contribution
Flu vaccinations

As HCR is an equal opportunities employer, we don't just accept differences, we celebrate them. We want to attract a diverse and ambitious workforce that reflects all backgrounds and skills to create a workplace that is supportive and inclusive, recognises and nurtures talent, and which works together to achieve the best outcome for our clients.
If this opportunity sounds of interest to you, please make an application and submit your CV.
