Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Residents: To work closely with the General Manager to ensure that the Home is run in an efficient and caring manner and to promote a happy and secure environment for residents.
To ensure that the residents are enabled to lead full, secure and satisfying lives within their own limitations and requirements.
To assist residents with their personal care and advise on health needs, liaising with statutory community health providers as required.
To assist in assessments for admission of potential residents.
To ensure the formulation of social and health care plans, undertaking regular reviews to evaluate existing care plans and ensure that care given is documented in accordance with procedures.
To be responsible for and to maintain the necessary records.
Staff: To lead and manage staff ensuring that residents' needs are met.
To ensure all new staff receive full induction into their job role.
To participate in staff meetings, staff training and assessment.
To supervise, observe and monitor staff working practices and standards, identifying and reporting any training needs to the General Manager.
To ensure that all staff and residents adhere to Policies and Procedures reporting any matters of concern to the General Manager.
To liaise with the Head Office team on any staff-related matters that impact on service provision.
Administration: To manage and maintain all documents, records and other resources essential to the running of the Home.
Formulate and issue duty rotas for the team ensuring the appropriate number and skill mix of staff on duty.
To ensure all complaints are reported to the Manager promptly.
To uphold quality assurance policies throughout the Home.
Ensure goods and equipment required for the smooth running of personal care are available and maintained within budgeting constraints.
To assist the Manager in maintaining all records as may be required by registering authority, General Manager or EFHL.
To ensure the security of all residents and the premises through the observance of security procedures.
To contribute to the financial planning and performance.
To take personal responsibility in becoming fully aware of SOVA and Health and Safety at Work Policies, in particular Fire Procedures, Control of Infection, COSHH and Moving and Handling Policies.
