The Lead is also responsible for the continuous facilitation to enable strategic business outcomes through well-considered technology solutions, decisions, and strategies.
KEY RESULT AREAS Project Olympus (Banking) aims to set a differentiated standard for all the capabilities. As the lead, the role includes: Leading the evolution of the Architecture Chapter, which encompasses a centralized function and decentralized function.Responsible for the management of the centralized function, including Enterprise Architecture, Domain specialized Architects, as well as Enterprise Data and Security Architects.Responsible for the management of the decentralized function which includes architects in specific implementation teams (e.g., Core, Card, Payments, and Onboarding).Support the active, evolutionary design of Olympus's technology and digital ecosystems, that meets the current and future needs of the business.Ensure the Architecture work continues to evolve, is up-to-date, and proactive in addressing change.Ensure solutions are efficient, secure, easy to maintain, and enabling business value.Frame what the future of IT should look like.Analyze the current business and technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.Lead and facilitate the creation of governing principles to guide solution decision making for Olympus Architecture Chapter.Ensure that the optimal governance structure and compliance activities are associated with Architectural compliance.Drive the Architecture lifecycle consisting of Strategy alignment, Enterprise Architecture Planning, Solution Architecture Design, Implementation Guidance, Review and Validation, Continuous Improvement, and Governance.Consult with POs to fit solutions to architecture across all viewpoints.Define organizational requirements for the resources, structures, and cultural changes necessary to support the Architect Chapter.Promote the architectural process, outcomes, and results to the organization, including the Olympus' technology and business leaders; assess (through appropriate metrics) and communicate the achievement and impact of the Architect Chapter, as well as lead the development and execution of the chapter's communication and education plan.Partner closely with other technology teams to ensure we deliver the right digital architectural strategies and outcomes that are strategically aligned across our business.Design and prototype platform architectures to enable digital adoption.Stay updated on technology trends and provide impact analysis on how it will impact the digital plans.Support evaluation of vendor's platforms, architectures and propose the right solution that best fits customer's business requirements.Ensure cost efficiency through financial and corporate governance Contribute to the development and implementation of fit for purpose budgets.Manage supplier relationships, and budgets associated with projects.Manage quality people practices Align own behavior with the organization culture and values.Share and transfer product, process, and systems knowledge to colleagues and team members.Collaborate and work with the business to deliver required service levels.Actively share information with other team members regarding successes, issues, trends, and ideas.Leadership Effectiveness Role model client-centric behavior and demonstrate Management & Leadership Effectiveness.Align others to best practices and set standards of excellence.Define performance parameters and measurements for area under supervision.Manage performance and service delivery through direct reports and their teams.Oversee selection, performance management, and talent management in business area.Ensure effective talent management including succession planning; transformation per the BBBEE targets of the segment and national EAC (economically active population), skills development, and training for a sustainable operating model and diverse high performing team.Enable a culture of continuous learning and development in the organization.Drive and support change and culture shift initiatives.Ensure that the business unit is compliant with Group Governance Framework, Segment strategy and operating model, and any statutory legislation and regulations.ROLE REQUIREMENTS Postgraduate Computer Science / Engineering degree - Preferred.Proven experience in: AWS.10+ years of experience working in enterprise architecture domain – specific focus on digital experience working on microservices, API, cloud-native architecture, containers.Senior Management experience - Able to engage and influence at a senior level.Experience in security by design of platforms preferred.Ability to operate in a start-up mentality and unstructured environment.The appointment will be made from the designated group in line with the Employment Equity Plan of Old Mutual South Africa and the specific business unit.
