Job Description:
As the Farm Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the reserve's activities. You will work closely with the farm's team to ensure that the reserve's practices align with sustainable land use and biodiversity preservation. This role involves overseeing all aspects of Game Reserve management, from wild animal livestock management to guest accommodation.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee and manage all farm operations within the game reserve, livestock management, and guest accommodation practices.Develop and implement farming strategies that align with the reserve's conservation objectives.Ensure the health and well-being of livestock, including monitoring feeding, breeding, and veterinary care.Maintain farm equipment, tools, and infrastructure to ensure efficient operations.Supervise and train farm staff, providing leadership and support in all operational matters.Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, animal welfare standards, and all health and safety protocols.Develop budgets, track expenses, and manage resources to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.Prepare reports on farm performance, challenges, and achievements for senior management.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Wildlife Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).Minimum of 5 years' experience in farm management, preferably in a conservation or game reserve setting.Strong understanding of sustainable farming practices and their integration with wildlife conservation efforts.Experience with livestock management and crop cultivation.Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Valid driver's license and ability to operate farm machinery (or willingness to learn).Passion for conservation and environmental stewardship.Job Type: Full-time
