Purpose
The Transport and Logistics General Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our transportation and logistics operations. This includes implementing strategies to optimise supply chain processes, ensuring efficient and cost-effective transportation solutions, and maintaining high standards of service.

Qualifications & Skills Acquired:

Post matric qualification in supply chain/ transport management or relevant
Minimum of 5-10 years senior management experience in a transport environment (Non-negotiable)
End to end fleet management experience (Non-negotiable)
Subcontractor management experience (Essential)
Team management experience

Competencies

Develop and implement transportation and logistics strategies that align with company goals and objectives.
Oversee daily operations, including transportation planning, routing, and scheduling.
Manage relationships with carriers, and third-party logistics providers to ensure reliable and cost-effective services.
Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement in logistics operations.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards, including safety and environmental requirements.
Develop and manage budgets for transportation and logistics functions, ensuring cost control and efficiency.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of logistics professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
